Sneak peek of a client rebrand launching soon! Ful Sneak peek of a client rebrand launching soon! Full reveal coming once they’ve had a chance to catch their breath and settle into all the goodies in their launch package.
When people think about branding, they usually thi When people think about branding, they usually think about the logo - but a logo is only one piece of the world that makes up your brand.

For Leake, we created a custom icon system that supports everything from their core services, like custom jewelry, redesigns, repairs, and appraisals, to the smaller moments that help customers navigate the website, like warranties, FAQs, and jewelry care.

We designed a visual language that feels like an extension of the Leake brand itself: refined, elegant, and unmistakably theirs. Not like any generic jeweler in the mall.

It's one of those details people may not consciously notice, but they'll absolutely feel the difference. And it shapes how polished and trustworthy the overall brand experience feels.

This is the first post in a new series where I'll be sharing some of my favorite "beyond the logo" moments. I want to share with you the thoughtful design decisions (that we obsess over) that help turn a visual identity into a complete brand experience.

Because great branding doesn't stop with the logo. That's where it begins.

Go check out the site for @theleakeco (+ follow for gorgeous jewelry) - and as always, do let me know if I can help out with building out your brand world beyond just your logo.
The details, since you asked. 👀 Last time, I shar The details, since you asked. 👀

Last time, I shared the story behind The Nowell Firm. This time, let's talk about the pieces that make the brand work.

This was a full branding and website project, including a custom logo and monogram, visual identity system, brand guide, website design, and print and digital materials - business cards, letterhead, notecards, envelopes, email signatures, and social media headers - so the brand shows up consistently everywhere Serena does.

The monogram started with the letter N and the shape of a football, but I didn't want it to feel static or overly traditional. Serena works in sports law and NIL representation, so there needed to be a sense of movement and momentum without sacrificing professionalism. The final mark strikes that balance and became the foundation for the circular badge you see here.

The color palette follows the same thinking. Deep teal brings credibility and expertise. Electric lime adds energy and ambition. Together, they help the firm stand apart from the sea of navy-blue law firm branding.

And then there's the tagline: The Deal Is In The Details, which ties it all together perfectly. We couldn't have said it better ourselves.

A couple of calls I've had recently with businesse A couple of calls I've had recently with businesses ready for serious growth have had me thinking about how business owners can sequence their investments to see the best returns and growth.

Once we're past the beginning stages of business (taking any and every call, feeling out what services work best, figuring out which clients are the right fit), we start to know what our business actually is and who it's for. And that's usually when the instinct kicks in to scale up. More visibility. More leads. A real growth push.

The momentum is there. You may have some budget or time to put towards growth. The plan to invest in ads, PR, partnerships, or a podcast tour is locked in.

But the place to send all that traffic? It hasn't quite caught up to the business that's actually been built.

Paid media is fertilizer. Powerful and fast-acting, but it works on soil that's already taking root, not on bare dirt. If your brand and site aren't there yet, a growth push won't fix that. It'll just put more eyes on it.

We really want to help businesses make the best of their investments. So if you're eyeing a paid push (Facebook ads, Google ads, a PR campaign, an influencer partnership, a podcast tour, a booth at a conference, a signature sponsorship) and you can feel that something's off, let's talk about it on a Brand Clarity Call. Spring has arrived and I am thrilled. And I am ter Spring has arrived and I am thrilled. And I am terrified. I am both at once. Two sides of the same coin, half night, half day.

Every dang year the spring equinox sneaks up on me and I'm hit with joyful panic, equal parts "yay, more light every day!" and "wait, how is it already spring?!"

But I am shirking off the "what am I even doing with my life" energy, because we have big things taking root this season and I am excited to share them with you.

⚖️ 🏈 The Nowell Firm needed a brand energetic enou ⚖️ 🏈 The Nowell Firm needed a brand energetic enough for ambitious athletes but serious enough for big deals, and that's exactly what made this project such a fun challenge. The brand and site are live and I'm so excited to finally share it with you!

Serena came to us during a major business pivot: transitioning from government law to sports law. Too corporate and she'd blend in with every other law firm. Too casual and athletes wouldn't trust her with their future.

We needed that sweet spot between legal gravitas and athletic dynamism, a brand that could bridge both worlds and speak to two very different audiences at once.

We built a brand that stands completely apart from those big generalist firms. The Nowell Firm is a boutique sports law practice that honors serious legal expertise while connecting with the energy of athletic culture.

"Thank you and your team so much. You made this so much easier than I could have imagined. I am so pleased and relieved." — Serena

"I had a website that didn't reflect my company at "I had a website that didn't reflect my company at all—just a one-page site that made us look like a freelancer operation instead of an established team ready for larger clients."

That's Kristen from Every Little Word talking about her website before we worked together.

She had a legit content development company with an actual team—but online? She looked like a solo freelancer just starting out.

Not great when you're trying to land bigger clients.

Her biggest worry about hiring a designer was whether she'd be able to explain what she wanted well enough to end up with something that actually felt like them.

👉 Swipe to see how it went.

Bottom line: She went from avoiding sending people to her website to being genuinely proud to share it. People get who they are and what they do immediately.

If your website isn't matching what you're ACTUALLY capable of, it's holding you back. Let's change that.

I’m gonna be brave and bold here with a post with I’m gonna be brave and bold here with a post with ONE STATIC IMAGE. We have loads more images of this project but I’m going to save it for something big we have coming up 👇. We recently launched a new website for Onello & Mello LLP, a leading intellectual property law firm working with innovators worldwide. We designed the site to feel clean and modern yet approachable, with a tech-inspired video on the homepage and clear, intuitive navigation throughout.

We did a new color palette, new icons, new patterns, creative direction for photos, new font palette, SO many things to build on the company’s existing logo to create a fresh new brand. YES! We do work with existing logos. Logos are only a small piece of a full visual brand so there’s a lot of leeway for us to create a fresh look.

From streamlined service pages to engaging team profiles, every detail was crafted to showcase the firm’s expertise and make it easy for clients to connect. We also partnered with the amazing team at Every Little Word to bring the firm’s story to life through compelling, strategic, clear, and concise content.

We’ll be sharing a full case study and even more images once we unveil our own new site for Perennial Creative 👀… stay tuned!
